Women of the General Assembly

Project Release!

Coming October 2026

A Historic Publication Celebrating Leadership, Service, and Impact

Virginia Capitol Connections is excited to announce a special edition publication honoring the 56 women who serve in the 2026 Virginia General Assembly.

This unique magazine will feature a personal profile of every female legislator serving in the Virginia House of Delegates and Senate of Virginia. Each story will be written by a woman lobbyist who has worked with the legislator, offering unique insights into the character, leadership style, and public service of these accomplished women.

Launch Celebration

To commemorate the release of the magazine, Virginia Capitol Connections will host a special launch event in Richmond in October 2026.

The event will bring together legislators, public officials, business leaders, advocates, lobbyists, and members of the Virginia government relations community to celebrate the women featured in the publication and recognize their contributions to the Commonwealth.

Additional details regarding the event, venue, and guest speakers will be announced in the coming months.

Why This Matters

The Virginia General Assembly has been shaped by women who have brought diverse perspectives, experiences, and leadership styles to the legislative process. Today, women serve in historic numbers across both chambers, helping to influence policy, strengthen communities, and guide the future of the Commonwealth.

As a non-partisan publication, Women of the General Assembly recognizes and honors all women serving in the legislature, regardless of party or ideology. The result will be both a tribute to today’s leaders and a historical record for future generations interested in the evolving role of women in Virginia government.
