David
Bailey Associates Welcomes
Christian Rickers To Our General Assembly
Team
Rickers is a longtime political operative in Virginia. Since
he was old enough to walk he could be seen handing out leaflets
at in his home precinct of Kenbridge in rural Lunenburg County.
He has worked on dozens of campaigns in Virginia and beyond over
the course of his life. His interest in the General Assembly
and government relations truly began when in 1990 the Lieutenant
Governor handpicked Rickers as his Page. Additionally he served
as a congressional intern in DC during the summer of 1998.
He graduated with a B.A in political science from Hampden-Sydney
College in 1999, and was subsequently named Assistant Dean of
Admissions, a position he held, representing the college throughout
the southeastern United States, until 2002.
In 2002, Rickers received an appointment from Governor Warner
as Special Assistant for Policy in the Department of Housing
and Community Development, where he focused on rural issues and
community/economic development. Governor Kaine reappointed Christian
to this position in 2005.
A native of Kenbridge (population 1,400) in rural Southside
Virginia, Christian and his family are lifetime members of the
Kenbridge United Methodist Church. He enjoys watching NASCAR,
playing golf, and of course discussing politics.
