It’s time to hold nursing homes and other longterm care facilities accountable for providing safe environments and high-quality care for residents. The Virginia General Assembly must take action to ensure residents receive the care they need by: • establishing minimum staffing standards • guaranteeing quarterly training on issues like infection prevention protocols • requiring background checks for every nursing home employee.
