Lobbyists & Legislative Liaisons 2021

3 In memory of Mike Woods The year 2020 was a difficult year in so many respects. The lobbying community said goodbye to our good friend and colleague, Mike Woods, who passed away after a year-long battle with cancer. Mike was a proud Army veteran and one of the most widely known, and respected, members of the Virginia lobbying community. Mike’s passion for all things political was only rivaled by his love of his family, friends, and his beloved Cincinnati Reds. He received updates on every Virginia political campaign from right and left, often just to be able to offer a comment or quip, but always to keep up with the action. Always a man of his word, Mike emanated the qualities of a true professional. One could trust him to be reliable and dependable. Mike never missed a day of work and could be counted on to get the job done. He dedicated his life to helping others both personally and professionally. There was no favor too large or small. Mike had a way of connecting people and was especially proud of the fact that he had friends on both sides of the political aisle. A founding member of the Roanoke Caucus as well as the Karting Caucus, Mike truly enjoyed gathering people together to find common interests and shared experiences. Our thoughts go out to his family and his many friends throughout the halls of the General Assembly. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
